Good news....... This weekend...December 12/13th was an early Christmas for Poppy, Red and Diesel!!
All three have found new homes and, although all have gone initially on a trial basis, the signs are good that they will have a cosey home and comfortable sofa for the rest of their lives. Poppy & Red have gone together to help a couple come to terms with losing their 17 year old shiba. A lovely couple who spend a lot of time walking in the countryside or on the beach.
Diesel has gone to live with one of my ex kennelmaids, who now runs a pub and wanted Diesel as a friend and protector. She & Diesel had struck up a close relationship when she worked here and I am delighted to know that after being firstly in an all breed rescue kennel for many months, then spending the past 12 months in kennels here with me. He has finally found a new home. He so deserved a chance, being such an affectionate idiot!
Happy Christmas Poppy, Red & Diesel. Have a lovely life. You all deserve it.
November 2009
Poppy & Red have been together since they were puppies. They have been handed in due to a marriage breakup. Husband is now in a flat where he cannot have dogs and wife has her hands full looking after her children and felt she could no longer cope with dogs as well. Poppy is 6 years old and Red is 7 years old, they are both red and have been neutered. They are used to children and are sociable with other dogs, but are not used to cats. I would very much like to rehome them together if possible, as they are fairly calm, well behaved dogs and splitting them up will be stressful for both of them. I will post pictures of them once the weather settles down and they have both settled in to kennel life. (rehomed December 2009)
December 2008
Diesel is a shiba cross who came to me in November 2008. He was due to be put to sleep as he had over run his allotted time in the pound. Initially he was very distrusting of men, but he is getting much better. Once he knows you, he is the most loving and affectionate dog. He craves attention and cuddles and is a big favourite with all my kennel staff. Diesel is around 19 inches tall and is single coated. We are working on his social skills around other dogs and he is gradually improving.
